Your adrenals- very important glands located on top of your kidneys. They help you respond to stress, play a part in how strong your immune system is, regulate your body temperature, and help keep your blood sugar balanced.

 

Do you have adrenal fatigue?

Adrenal exhaustion can develop after long periods of intense emotional and/or physical stress. This happens when chronic over-stimulation of the glands leave them unable to meet your body’s needs. In response to chronic long term stress, including the stress of a chronic inflammatory disease, the body produces excess cortisol and adrenalin.

Common Signs of adrenal fatigue:

  • Always feeling tired- Excessive fatigue and exhaustion
  • Non-refreshing or restful sleep (you get enough hours of sleep, but always wake up  tired)
  • Feeling of being overwhelmed
  • You live at night, having most energy in the evening
  • Difficulty concentrating – the feeling of not being present or trouble focusing on tasks
  • Chronic infections and weakened immune system

Exercise – We must use energy to produce energy and regain our vitality. A good exercise routine has been proven to deliver many benefits including increased energy and boosted mood. Running, biking and swimming are all good options as well. The key is just to get your heart rate up and your blood pumping and bring oxygen to your entire body.  Studies have shown that regular exercise increases energy and reduces fatigue.The best time is first thing in the morning to get your day started right. Exercise will help you sleep more soundly.

Just listen… to who? To your body! Becoming more aware of how you feel, and when it is time to take a break is important. Many people these days seem to “not live in their bodies” anymore. Being in tuned is the key to good health.
